Yesterday was much easier. And I tried something crazy! I like my salads hot - and so I was thining I wanted my salad smoothies and juices hot as well, so I thought about juicing a hot pepper. I was worried if I would even been able to taste it but more importantly, I was worried that putting a hot pepper through my juicer would make all my juice tase like hot peppers. So as an experiment, in my lunchtime juice I juiced a sweet pepper from my garden. It was amazing! It was the second veggie I harvested from my garden. The first was a hot pepper which I gave to Scott's dad on father's day. Now I can wait to try a hot pepper!
What I had yesterday:
Carrot & Beet juice
Kitchen Sink Salad Smoothie: Avocado with juice of garlic, shallots, sweet pepper, spinach, swiss chard, celery, cucumber, mixed sprouts, carrots, tomato, lime and parsley. I also added a little sea salt.
Fruit smoothie: pinaapple, cherries, blackberries, raspberries, blueberries and a banana. (Oh! Yum!!)
Salad in a glass: Spinach, celery, carrots, tomato, garlic, swiss shard, zuchinni, sprouts, parsely and a little salt and hot sauce!
I also went out and after midnight went by R Thomas for another yummilicious Energy Soup Smoothie. They are soooo good!
I am really liking being able to juice a salad. The combinations have all been really lovely so far. When I go through these veggies, I would like to try mixing in some other things, like fennel and radishes! Having all that avocado sure helped. I know that for people who juice feast they dont drink complex fats and fiber like in my green smoothies, but I read that being on a juice feast also slows down your metabolism!! I don't want to do that! I just want my pipes clean! So it may take a little longer, but it is delicious! and hopefully I am not confusing my body too much!!
When I stepped on the scale today I did notice I dropped 4 pounds. I want to be very careful with that. I read where lots of people would lose a pound or more a day on liquids. I also read the folks who stayed raw after pretty much kept off all the weight they lost... people who went back to cooked gained some back. I am not so much worried about that as I am a little worried about making sure I am getting enough fuel for my body. I am taking some supplements which helps, I think.
I am really excited to juice things from my garden. After I move next month, I will be looking at what I can plant at the new place for harvesting in the fall. I am in Georgia, any suggestions?

I think that I shall never see a juice as lovely as a carrot.

PIZZA!!!
The leftover pizza, just like SAD pizza, was even BETTER today. The "slices" were huge too, like a pizza for one.
I didn't have any after dinner snacks, since we went to Scott's nephew's birthday party and came home late.

Juice. Carrot. Yes!

I was on the run - so I had a delicious avocado!

Orange. Blood. Snack.

Pizza. Holy Moly! The crust was a spinach leaf, topped with sun dried tomato sauce, almond, cashew & basil cheese, red and green peppers, marinated mushrooms, walnut sausage and olives on the side! I made 3 "slices" but I could only eat one.

I finished off the ice supreme. Scott suggested we stop and get more since I like it so much - he is so cute. I am thinking maybe an ice cream machine may be good. Anyone have any luck making raw ice cream with one?

I was not as famished as I thought I would be - so I waited a while to eat. I made a scramble based on Ani Phyo Love the Chicks pate scrambles. My pate was slightly different - with more spices and I scrambled it with spinach, tomatoes and red & green peppers. I totally forgot to add mushrooms! I also made a raspberry, blueberry, blackberry, strawberry and pear smoothie. It was berry good. ( I know am I a dork - but I couldn't help myself!)

I had no idea so much time had passed when I went to grab a bite! I had some spinach and peppers left over from this morning so I mixed in some corn and hemp seeds and spices and dressing and with a side of kimchi had a meal. I also made a glass of mixed citrus juice: blood orange, oranges and lemon. Then I had some nori bites. Yum!

Not hungry for a snack, but I did make some delicious tea for myself and Scott while we snuggled in front of the fireplace and watched a movie.
4 weeks Raw yesterday. I was working up to it the week before I went all raw - but here are the good and bad side effects I have noticed.
I lost 20.0 pounds!
My skin is supple. Even my ever ashy elbows have softened up! I have very dry skin and have to religiously wear facial moisturizer - so this was a beautiful benefit to me.
I am very "regular" Thank goodness for recycled tp. Everything feels like this though.
Since I have been trying to eat on a schedule, I am not hungry until it is time to eat.
My energy level is even - no huge spikes or dips, just energy all day.
I have slept pretty well, no nightmares or night terrors at all - which has been a lifelong issue for me. That has a lot to do with Scott to methinks.
My head is very clear. At first it felt unreal, now it is just clarity. It is easier to listen to my body... I feel more tuned in to myself. Does that make sense?
I have been keeping a record of what I eat on this website - to make sure I am getting all the nutrition I need; I have been surprised at how well my nutritional intake has been. I am also taking calcium, iron and a multi vitamin for vegans.
I feel like I smell bad and have bad breath all the time. My bf says no and he would tell me if I was stinky - but his olfactory senses are not too sharp. Ha!
At first, my face broke out like I had not since I was a kid. It has since passed.
Cigarette smoke really bothers me now. I guess that is not bad - just weird.
Over the next 60 days of Raw, I will be gradually increasing my workouts - so I may be eating a lot more to compensate depending on how I am feeling.
I have not found it difficult to eat at all. I make a lot of food at home and have a few places I know I can go and eat, or pick up food. Scott has been wonderful about going to places I would like to eat and has tried a lot of the raw food. He liked a few things, but he is a hard core Omni who who only eats very few veggies and hardly any fruit. I did ask him if he wouldn't mind, if he would cook for himself for a while - which he is fine with. I normally made two dinners, but I would make one vegan and since he does not eat any raw food, it was getting a little crazy. (Although cute - like when I would make him something Italian, I would make myself raw Italian!) I will be in Florida for 10 days starting next weekend and I do not see that being an issue either. My mom takes me to great places to get fresh fruits and veggies, so I will be fine. (If anyone knows a place I can get a nice raw dinner in Miami, please let me know!)
